The Inaugural Bridgestone Tour B Cup was held at the Harbor Club on Lake Oconnee, GA on September 18-19.

The event is a Ryder Cup style event with some of the best amateur golfers in Georgia and Florida competing for the cup. Each team was represented by 12 players.

The format including 27 holes of team competition on Saturday, followed by 18 holes of singles matches on Sunday.

Team Florida took a commanding lead during the opening session in the Best Ball format. They won all six matches, gaining a lead that they would never relinquish.

Georgia held tough during the afternoon Alternate Shot and Scramble matches, but ultimately lost each by a margin of 3.5 to 2.5, respectively.

At the end of Day 1 at the Tour B Cup, the leaderboard read Florida 13 – Georgia 5.

Team Captains got in on the action on Sunday, meaning that 13 points were up for grabs. The Captains Match was ultimately split, giving each team ½ point.

Team Florida won six singles matches, with Team Georgia coming out on top in five. One match was split.

The final score of the Inaugural Bridgestone Tour B Cup was Florida 20 – Georgia 11.

Some exceptional golf was played on a tremendous golf course. Even though the final score was a bit lopsided, most of the matches were very competitive. Florida’s early lead was ultimately just too much for Georgia to make up.
