SknVue is an IRS-designated 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting and educating the importance of early detection of skin cancer.

Approximately 20% of Americans will develop some type of skin cancer by the age of 70. Two people die of skin cancer in the U.S. every hour. The good news is that there is a 99% 5-year survival rate for melanoma when detected early.

But the vast majority of Americans do not visit a dermatologist for regular screenings.

SkvVue is doing some great things to bring more awareness and help people understand the importance of proper skin care.

Often, we think of skin cancer as something that happens over the course of a lifetime. But most of the damage done to the skin by the sun happens before the age of 18.

SknVue Inc. and MetaOptima Technology Inc. have announced a groundbreaking new mobile app to assist in the prevention and early detection of skin cancer.

The SknVue Tracker app will roll out with a beta launch in May during Skin Cancer Awareness Month, followed by a formal launch to consumers in the fall, when the app becomes available in the iOS and Android stores.

“We are thrilled to be partnering with MetaOptima to create a game-changing technology that will enable anyone anywhere to track their skin conditions, capture sharp imagery of any spots of concern, and share this imaging with their medical team or through a teleconsultation facilitated via the SknVue Tracker app,” said Randy Wyant, CEO and co-founder of SknVue. “It is imperative that everyone have easy and real-time access to resources and tools that can help them manage their skin and detect problem areas that need further consultation. The SknVue Tracker app powered by MetaOptima will revolutionize how anyone, anywhere can get ahead of this fast-growing disease. Early detection saves lives.”

SknVue is partnering with organizations such as the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA), the Payne Stewart Kids Golf Foundation, and the Boys & Girls Club of America to help educate the general public about the importance of early skin cancer detection.

Skin is our body’s largest organ. It is also the most vulnerable in many ways because it is directly exposed to the elements – especially the sun!

Doesn’t it make sense to take better care of your skin? SknVue can help you do just that.
