The state of Alabama has some of the most picturesque golf courses in the south. From Huntsville to Mobile and every town in between, you can always find a place to play a round of golf. But in the small town of Grand Bay, Alabama in Mobile county sits a true diamond in the rough. There is a course that is the most talked about course in town. CJ’S Par 3 course is a family-owned course operated by Chuck Hatcher.

The course opened in 1998 and has been run by the Hatcher family since its birth. The course consists of 9 holes ranging from 100 yards to 180 yards. It is a well laid out course surrounded by trees with a couple of small water hazards thrown in for good measure. The fairways are Bermuda and St. Augustine grass, and the greens are Tifdwarf Bermuda.

You can play golf at CJ’s Par 3 for just $10.00 all day. Free pull carts are available. Riding carts are $15.00 per person for 27 holes. Club rentals are also available for $10.00 per adult and $8.00 for children under 8 years of age.

The course is open 7 days per week, from 7:00 AM until 7:00 PM. According to Mr. Hatcher, the course gets between 175 to 200 rounds per week. This little course is well-maintained and manicured. It’s a great place for the golfer who needs to get away and spend a day hitting the little round ball without doing damage to the pocket. CJ’s Par 3 is truly a diamond in the rough.
