We don’t make every putt. (Looking directly at you Joey! Just kidding, he makes every putt.) It’s true whether you compete in the GCGA or just pal around on your local course. There are some putts you know you won’t make… like those 30 footers. With those, the goal is to set yourself up to tap the next putt in.

You know, it’s the same with business.

Some days you come home with a big silly grin after closing a record sale or getting that promotion you’ve wanted for years. But most days are more like that first putt. You didn’t win that day or achieve some milestone, you just set yourself up for later. You made progress. You got closer to your goals whatever those goals are.

Like Ben Hogan said, “A shot that goes in the cup is pure luck, but a shot to within two feet of the flag is skill.”
