Boasting two championship courses, the Jones Course and the Hills Course, LPGA International offers a sensational golf experience. Designed by legendary golfers Rees Jones and Arthur Hills, both courses are meticulously crafted to challenge players of all skill levels while providing a backdrop of natural beauty.

One of the true treasures of New Smyrna Beach Golf Club is its meticulously maintained paspalum greens. Gently sloping and true rolling, they showcase the excellence of both design and condition.

It was an absolute joy to play this historic course with near perfect greens!

That’s just a preview of some of the fantastic golf available in the Daytona Beach area. Many hotels partner with the courses to offer stay and play packages. The lighthouse was completed in 1887 and is characterized by its distinct red-brick masonry and black lantern room, which give it a classic and timeless appearance. Visitors have the opportunity to climb the 203 steps to the top, a challenge I quickly accepted. The view is spectacular, and I highly recommend making the climb, but be prepared to have wobbly legs afterwards.

The Smithsonian-affiliated Museum of Arts & Sciences, which stands as Central Florida’s foremost institution for art, science, and history. The Cici and Hyatt Brown Museum of Art displays and celebrates Florida’s artistic heritage. Both are highly recommended for those days when you need a little break from the course or the beach.

Rose Villa, nestled in the historic heart of Ormond Beach, Florida, is a comfortable and inviting restaurant that marries Southern-inspired cuisine with a touch of classic elegance. The signature southern fried chicken is a menu favorite, alongside a curated selection of craft cocktails and a diverse array of wines.

Rose Villa’s roots trace back to the late 1800s when it was established as a bed and breakfast in 1901. Serving as an exclusive retreat adjacent to Henry Flagler’s renowned Ormond Hotel, it provided a private haven for esteemed guests seeking a more secluded experience. After thriving for years, the building transitioned through various roles, eventually showing signs of age.

In 2007, owner Bill Jones breathed new life into the original Rose Villa, restoring it to its Victorian splendor.

Today, Rose Villa extends a refined yet relaxed ambiance, epitomizing Southern hospitality. Whether patrons gather at the bar for convivial cocktails and conversation, or indulge in a leisurely dining experience, they are met with an undeniable charm that resonates throughout the establishment.

The dining options are seemingly endless in the Daytona Beach area. Whether you’re craving a mouthwatering lobster roll from Crabbie’s Oceanside or ready to dive into the diverse burger options at BurgerTen at One Daytona, there’s no shortage of culinary delights to discover.

As you can tell, we came for the golf, but we thoroughly enjoyed our time in Daytona Beach on and off the course! We’re already looking forward to a return visit and highly recommend adding it to your list of must-visit destinations!
