The 2025 PGA Championship will take place this week at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina. The second major of the season features an incredibly strong field, an exemplary course, and plenty of competitive storylines.
Course Overview: Quail Hollow Club
Quail Hollow returns as the PGA Championship venue for the second time, having previously hosted in 2017. The course is a par-71, stretching 7,623 yards, and is renowned for its demanding layout, particularly the final three holes known as “The Green Mile.” This stretch includes long par-4s and water hazards that test even the most skilled golfers.
Tournament Favorites
Rory McIlroy has a strong track record at Quail Hollow, having won the Wells Fargo Championship there four times (2010, 2015, 2021, and 2024)—more than any other player in the tournament’s history. His familiarity with the course and proven success make him a top contender heading into the 2025 PGA Championship. Fresh off his historic victory at the Masters, where he completed the career Grand Slam, McIlroy now looks to claim his second consecutive major title and fifth overall. Standing in his way is Scottie Scheffler, the world No. 1, who has dominated the 2025 season with multiple wins and remains the slight betting favorite to win at Quail Hollow thanks to his consistency, elite ball striking, and all-around game.
