As the Augusta National Women’s Amateur heads into its final round, the stage is set for an exciting conclusion at Augusta National Golf Club. The competition, which began with 72 of the world’s top female amateur golfers, has been narrowed down to 32 players who made the cut after two intense rounds at Champions Retreat Golf Club in Evans, Georgia.
Woad and Romero Lead the Pack
Defending champion Lottie Woad of England and Oregon’s Kiara Romero share the lead at 9-under-par. Woad, aiming to become the first repeat champion in tournament history, posted rounds of 65 and 70. Romero, who has been consistent throughout, carded a 67 followed by a 68 to keep pace at the top of the leaderboard.
Close behind, Spain’s Andrea Revuelta and Carla Bernat Escuder, along with American Megha Ganne, sit at 8-under-par, just one shot off the lead. Revuelta and Bernat Escuder turned in impressive rounds of 66 and 68, respectively. Ganne set a tournament record with a sizzling 63 in the opening round but cooled off slightly with a 73 in the second.
Young Talent Making Moves
One of the breakout stars of the event has been 16-year-old Asterisk Talley, who surged up the leaderboard with a second-round 66. She now sits at 7-under-par, tied for sixth with Sweden’s Meja Örtengren. Talley’s performance has put her in contention heading into the final round, where she will look to make history with a strong finish.
The Road Ahead
The cut was set at 1-under-par, with the remaining 32 players now shifting their focus to Augusta National, where the final round will be played on Saturday, April 5. The championship round promises a thrilling finish, with multiple players in striking distance of the lead.
Final-round tee times begin at 7:50 a.m. ET, with the leaders teeing off later in the morning. Golf fans can catch the action live on NBC and stream the coverage via Peacock from 11:00 AM to 2:30 p.m. CT.
With a packed leaderboard and history on the line, all eyes will be on Augusta National as the world’s top amateurs battle for one of the most prestigious titles in women’s golf.
