The Lakewood Club in Point Clear, AL will host the 2020 U.S. Senior Women’s Amateur Championship, the USGA announced on Tuesday.

The event is scheduled for September 17-20, and will feature the best senior women amateur golfers in the United States and from around the world. This will be the third time The Lakewood Club has hosted the tournament, which was previously played on the Point Clear course in 1974 and 1986.

“We are very excited to bring the 59th U.S. Senior Women’s Amateur to The Lakewood Club,” said John Bodenhamer, the Senior Managing director of USGA Championships. “We are confident that its Dogwood Course will provide the ultimate test for competitors as well as a wonderful championship experience outside the ropes.”

The Lakewood Club is part of Alabama’s Robert Trent Jones Trail, and features two 18 championship courses – Dogwood and Azalea. The Dogwood Course, originally designed in 1947 by Perry Maxwell, will host the event.

The Lakewood Club is part of the Grand Hotel Marriott Resort in Point Clear, Alabama. In addition to the world-class golf, you’ll find ten professional tennis courts, a 20,000 square foot European-style spa, a magnificent pool, and numerous dining options.
