Looking for golf gift ideas for Father’s Day? We know it’s not always easy, so maybe some of these gift ideas will help make your shopping experience a little easier and give your dad a little something that he’ll enjoy.
Golf Balls
Our recommendation is to do a little snooping and find out if your dad has a favorite ball that he likes to play. Take a look in his bag, if possible, or ask one of his buddies. If you’re not sure, or if he has no loyalty to a particular brand, we recommend that you give Bridgestone balls a try. Bridgestone offers a wide range of balls for all types of players. The e12 Soft and Speed are great for the average golfer, while the Tour Series offers a number of options for better players. Visit bridgestonegolf.com for details.
Hat or Shirt From His Favorite Course
Consider a hat or shirt displaying the logo of one of your dad’s favorite courses. This is a great way to keep him looking good and support one one of his favorite places!
Gift Card or Round of Golf
All golf courses offer gift cards or gift certificates that can be used for merchandise, food and beverages, and rounds of golf. After all, what does dad really want? To play more golf, of course!
Rangefinder
Golfers want to know how far they are from the pin. A rangefinder is the fastest and most efficient way for your dad to know how far away he is and what club to hit – even if he doesn’t hit the ball as far as he thinks he does! There are many rangefinders on the market. One of our favorites is the Nikon COOLSHOT Pro Stabilized. Nikon uses technology that stabilizes the small hand movements that occur while looking through the scope, enabling the user to aim at small objects such as flagsticks faster and then direct the laser onto the target with confidence. The COOLSHOT Pro Stabilized measures actual distance as well as slope-adjusted distance. Measurements are given with 0.3 seconds and are accurate to within 3/4 of a yard within 700 yards. The Nikon COOLSHOT Pro Stabilized is currently on sale for $399.99 at nikonsportsoptics.com.Golf Bag
How is dad’s golf bag looking these days? Is it time for an upgrade? If so, Sun Mountain Sports makes some of the best golf bags on the market. The are good-looking, long-lasting, and are very functional. If your dad usually rides when he plays, the C-130 line is our favorite.
The C-130 is Sun Mountain’s best-selling cart bag. All of the features are designed with cart use in mind, starting with the reverse orientation top with three utility handles, the Smart Strap System and a convenient, velour-lined rangefinder pocket. All pockets are forward-facing and accessible when the bag is on a cart. Sun Mountain now offers the C-130 in a Supercharged version which includes a power pack capable of charging a mobile device.
The C-130 is available in 12 colors and retails for $244.99, while the C-130 Supercharged comes in 6 colors with a retail price of $279.99.
Sun Mountain offers a wide variety of cart and carry bags, all made by golfers for golfers. Visit sunmountain.com for more details or to order.
Lessons
Whether your dad is a beginning golfer or he’s been playing for years, there’s a good chance he wouldn’t mind shaving a few strokes off his handicap. Lessons with a local PGA Professional can help him improve his game and enjoy his time on the course just a little bit more. Golf lessons are usually offered individually or as a series. One of our favorites, David Musial, PGA Director of Golf at GlenLakes Golf Club in Foley, AL is currently offering a 3 lesson program for $120.00. For more information, visit glenlakesgolf.com, call (251) 955-1220 ext. 4, or email David at musialgolf@yahoo.com.
Does dad really want another tie? In all honesty, probably not. Give him a golf-related gift and you’ll make him happy on Father’s Day and the next time he tees it up!
